Streetline, Inc. is the leading provider of smart parking solutions to cities, garages, airports, universities and other private parking providers. Streetline aims to make smart cities a reality through the use of sensor-enabled mobile and web applications.
With the introduction of Parker™, the first real-time parking guidance application for smartphones and in-car navigation systems, Streetline enables drivers to find parking quickly and easily. Experts estimate that 30% of urban traffic is caused by motorists looking for parking. Additionally, vehicle emissions and drivers looking for parking are so closely linked that a yearlong study found that drivers in a fifteen block district in Los Angeles drove in excess of 950,000 miles searching for a space and produced 730 tons of carbon dioxide. By connecting the real world with critical information, Streetline is revolutionizing the way we live and work, while making cities more efficient and lessening their environmental impact.
Deploying Streetline’s sensor network is a simple and quick process. In fact, it only takes four to six minutes to deploy each individual sensor, allowing a small crew to lay down hundreds of sensors in a day.
Streetline offers two patented sensors that are the same in function, and each use one to three steps to be deployed. The surface mount sensor requires only one step: epoxy placed on the bottom of the sensor to be glued onto the top of the pavement. The embedded sensor, which is placed within the pavement, can be installed in three easy steps. First, we use a core drill to carve out a circular area in the pavement for the sensor to be placed into; then, we chip out the center using a hammer drill with a chisel bit; and lastly, we use epoxy to glue down the sensor.
